WOW!!! Great sushi, I've been comparing the WA locations to A'Float Sushi in Pasadena, Ca & so far the only 1 that can hold its ground is this place, SUMO SUSHI!! Price was good and the sushi was great!! Love the atmosphere they have in there. Got full off of only 3 plates which doesn't usually happen. Definitely taking my family here when they come back up. Good job Sumo, good job 👍

Absolutely love this place! Excellent, authentic food and amazing service. We lived in Japan for 3 years, and this is where we go when we miss our 'home-away-from-home'.

My husband and I ordered take out. The customer service was great and our order (which was a lot of food) came out hot and in a timely fashion. When we took it home, food was presentable and delicious.

Best sushi and customer service I have experienced. Beats any sushi place in Seattle and I have been to a lot! Jessica is our favorite waitress and gives us great recommendations for the best sushi to order (We basically let her order for us and are always satisfied). This is a secret gem of a sushi place! If I could afford it I would eat here every night.

Absolutely delicious.I do a fair amount of traveling across Washington, and often have sushi when in meetings. Sumo Sushi is definitely among the best I've had. It is a bit pricier than some locations, but you get what you pay for.

Food and service were amazing! Came in and we're promptly seated. The waitress answered all of our questions with ease. The food came out quickly and tasted amazing. We had the pork katsu, black widow, and chicken karaage.

Reserved a table for 8 of us, ( only seven showed up), and was sat quickly. Was handled with care and the server was nice. But the food took about an hour and twenty minutes to get out. Though thankfully we had ordered some appetizers before we had known it was going to take so long. Was promised throughout the night that it was coming when that wasn't the case. Food came out really staggered and many of us didn't finish together so some people ended up leaving before the group. I've been here before and this isn't the regular review I would leave. Sad to say but that was my experience.

I haven't had anything from Sumo that I didn't like! We've been a handful of times and everything we've tried has been high quality and delicious, from their sushi rolls to their miso soup and beef teriyaki. Staff is very friendly and efficient too. They have a lot of options for long rolls. A bit pricey, like all quality sushi is, but definitely worth it.

Good food and pleasant staff make Sumo a great choice in Maple Valley. It can be a little hard to find. You can see it from the road, but need to drive to the back of the building to find the entrance. Well worth the trip.

Sumo Sushi was okay. We went there since we are moving to Renton/Maple valley we wanted to try a restaurant in the area and saw Sumo Sushi while driving around. We ordered a sampler appetizer, which wasn't very good, had a chicken teriyaki bowl (which was okay), some salad and Miss soup (which came with the chicken teriyaki bowl, and two different rolls (see the photos). The Salmon roll was the best part of the meal and was also the most affordable. I ordered a super albacore roll, but was served a different roll and wasn't able to get that resolved. The second roll was okay, but it wasn't great and it wasn't what I had ordered... If we go back we will stick with inexpensive rolls like the salon or yellow-tail rolls.

From the friendly greeting at the door to the “something sweet” they gave us for my niece this was a wonderful experience. The food came quickly even with a crowd and was delicious. While I stuck with vegan fare my niece at everything and said it was just as good. Definitely worth your time.

I didn’t think I’d find a sushi place this good outside of Seattle! My local fav! Maple Valley needs more good food like this!

We ordered three of the “large” orders of salmon nigiri. $15 per order, TWO pieces per order...that’s 45$ for six total pieces of salmon. Absolutely absurd. No where on the site does it clarify. It tasted good but by no means worth that money. Will definitely warn people to stay away.

My husband and I haven't been here in a while and we were just mentioning the other week that we need to go visit soon.There was a time maybe a year ago when we had visited two or three times within a few week period. The restaurant was clean and the food was superbly prepared. Everything we've tried there has been outstanding. I'm not a sushi fan, so I appreciate that they have other choices - katsu, teriyaki, and tempura. Service has always been top-notch, we are greeted by everyone (even the sushi chefs) when we enter the restaurant - everyone seems happy to see us. Alex was our server the last couple of times and he was amazing. They had a good selection of sake, wine, and beer.We had plans for my husband to go back and try the sea urchin as they had been sold out the last couple of times we were there. Hopefully, I'll have a happy update the next time we visit.

Staff are friendly and speedy. Food came out and looked wonderful. Rolls fell apart, and rice was a little too soft but I'd definitely recommend giving this a try over Trapper's. It's local, it's fresh, and it's convenient.

Some of the best sushi I've had in a long time. This is the second time I've been here and its quality is consistent.
